They were indeed sharp dressed men...EndlesslyRocking wrote:I think I misunderstood the original question.
The first time I can remember seeing RUSH was the Distant Early Warning video. The narrow ties! The rolled up suit jacket sleeves! The mullets!
Oh, how I miss the 80's...

They were heavily harrassed when I saw them in NY as well. I don't think they were out of the first verse of the first song before we all started screamin' for Rushpsupower wrote:Back in 1994 at The Pittsburgh Civic Arena, Counterparts Tour..

Ahh yes, I remember that well, September 19,1980, the Permanent Waves tour. Two things that I can still recall from that show - an incredible explosion at the beginning of Temples of Syrinx and two new songs they previewed from their next album - Tom Sawyer and Limelight.
Still going strong after 30 years....amazing!

Too bad about Candlebox. I saw that tour in Charlotte and Chapel Hill and thought that Candlebox was a fine opener. Of course my favorite opener to Rush has been on the last 3 tours.psupower wrote:Back in 1994 at The Pittsburgh Civic Arena, Counterparts Tour..

It's so fun hearing about everybody else's experiences.
My first time was in 1979... Tour of the Hemispheres in Salt Lake City. I went in as a casual fan. I only knew The Trees, La Villa Strangiato, and 2112. When they played Cygnus X-1 The Journey and Geddy started playing that melody on his foot keyboard I just about fell out of my seat I was so excited. That was when I made the transition from being a casual fan to a hard-core fan.

Aren't you the guy who hit me in the eye?
