I remember seeing them in 81 and Alex doing Broon's Bane (though it wasn't called that yet). I was hoping it would lead into The Trees... seemed logical from the sound of the piece. I cheered when it did.

In our house, the Queen has never played a part of Christmas. We have outher countdown traditions, like moving the pieces of the creche toward the stable a little bit each day.

Thankfully, now I'm married and don't live at home anymore, I can get away from all that. My mother happens to be an ardent soap fan and a staunch royalist. Can you imagine what that's like for a soap-hating republican?

In the UK, a Republican is someone who thinks that the French had the right idea in cutting off the heads off of their royal family. I suppose even the French can have a good idea.

Would you then be affiliated with the labour party, or the... um... other party (sorry... mind is drawing a blank on what it's called... is it just called the conservative party)?
