the manditory box tease
Followed by the Case tease
Oh look, there is a headstock
Pay special attention to the inlay at the 3rd fret (second one)
A close up of it best i could do.
The lower frets
The back
The front
The body closeup
This guitar is everything I wanted almost.. The flame top, is perfect , exactly how i want it. The coil splitter (little switch) splits both pickups, I asked and paid for 2, one for each pickup. I will get that resolved with carvin.
The neck, very wide. Not quite what I am used to but it came pretty naturally. I got an assymetrical wide neck, so the strings are nicely placed. The humbucker pickups are big and beefy, very good bass AND trebble responce. The piezo pickup is nice, a little less beefy, but with roundwounds picks up alot fo slide noise. This is still cool, I will have uses for it. On board preamp works well, and the volumes are pretty level. The frets are ultra smooth and the oiled neck doesn't stick even when I'm sweating up a storm. I LOVE IT.

Honestly elf with flame like that I do not care I said I want my flame chevronned, KW said thats a 100$ charge, any preference on the flame, I said 3-5mm, they nailed it, one of the best flamed tops I've seen from them.ElfDude wrote:That flame is to die for!!!
Shame about the coil-split misunderstanding. But yeah, they'll make things right for you.
Is that fretboard ebony or rosewood?
The board is Ebony, its a bit yellowish in the middle frets, but thats natural, and it adds character. I think it looks nicer that way. you can tell they did not just stain it black its real wood. Frets are SS, and the abalone inlays are very very nice.

I'm with you on that one. Though you and I both know people who would call it a flaw and would not be able to "believe that one got past QC!".Sir Myghin wrote: The board is Ebony, its a bit yellowish in the middle frets, but thats natural, and it adds character. I think it looks nicer that way.

When you cannot find flaws you invent them. Have seen far too much nitpicking over carvins exactitude in construction, sure a few balls have dropped recently but this goes to show they still have it. I waited patiently, never complained and mine is flawless. All good things to those who wait.
