Because we did not have our pre-paid law during the accident the lawyer cannot do much unless we pay him extra. I know it is confusing if you are not in the situation. I wish i could show you the letters on this thing, i do not want to type them out lol.

Well, if we put a dollar value on emotions, then the whole world owes me everything. I have pain buried deep inside my psyche that I will never be rid of this side of the grave, and It was all created at the hand of those who I thought loved me. Should I go after them because they are imperfect humans who don't hold my regard high enough? Because they made mistakes? Because they had mental lapses?
Now, I know I'm blowing this way out of proportion, but I want to make the point. When is it enough, and when do we begin to acknowledge that it is a messed up world, and bad things will happen to us eventually. It doesn't always have to be labelled as someone elses fault.

.....It's all about being fairly compensated for actual and FUTURE costs associated with the incident....
NOT sending someone to the poor house.
It's all about fairness, but I have to agree that:
Life is not fair, and we are taught to "get over it."
Although....some people never do.![Rolling Eyes ](./images/smilies/rebel_roll.gif)

and what is the limit on insurance companies...?....oh there is none again as they will take shitloads of money from you but not pay out what is due
Schuey makes two very fine points.... and laywers should be shot...
Happy 2015!
My guess is you have had a bad experience with insurance, Schu. We have had the opposite problem. Our insurance company has always paid what we have claimed against them, although we have never had to make a huge claim. However, when the house of a friend burnt, our (and his) insurance man came to this friend's house while the fire department was still there and put a check in his hand to pay for a motel for his family while they were unable to be in the house.

Well both my insurance, & the other guys have been very awesome & fast in all this. I am happy about this, & i did not start this topic to get griped at or start arguments. Yes the world sux, & no i do not think i am owed all this & that for every little thing that happens to me. Think about now, i am here on these boards because i am a RUSH fan!!! Listen to some of the lyrics in the songs!!!! I am also a HUGE Ayn Rand fan & have her beliefs. The reason for this topic & asking my friends is because i DO want to be fair both to them & us!!!!!!!!!!! I do not want to ask fro too much, or too little that is my point of this.

I would suggest asking for double what you think is a fair amount, and then you have room to maneuver if they don't want to give you that much. If you start out low, you've got nowhere to go! They might even surprise you and say, "ok." Wouldn't that be grand? ![:-D](./images/smilies/003.gif)

did I mention that:

Lisa, I don't think any of us meant to be griping at you or call your intentions into question. People were just discussing our varied opinions back and forth and sometimes we get into it a bit with each other, since we have widely divergent opinions on many things here. Still, we all like (love?) each other and that would include you too. Please forgive us if it came across as being directed at you in a negative way.
