I haven't gotten the CD's but only because I think it would drive me crazy having to listen without seeing. The DVD is so wonderful. I've never really liked the song Tom Sawyer but I love it on the DVD because of all the fan reaction that you get to see. The fans make that whole show a very special thing for me.

I'm also very fond of The Boys in Brazil movie on disc two. I watch that thing over and over. It's especially moving for me because I got it not too long after reading Ghost Rider. To see Neil happy and smiling after all his trials is an inspiration to me.

La Villa Strangiato is such an amazing performance!

While I was out in Arizona last week on vacation, my Mom and Dad sat and watche the Boys in Brazil documentary! :shock: They were always pretty "supportive" of my Rush habit so I was pleasantly surprised when they watched. Mom didn't pick up a book or sewing and Dad didn't fall asleep. 8) And I know they paid attention because Mom was making references to the dvd for a few days afterward! :D

That is SO cool. All I've tried to show my father is Neil's drum solo. Of course, he is 80...

I was watching RiR and my Dad walked into the room, at the beginning of "Leave That Thing Alone". He isn't really interested in Rush but when the lights came on and he saw Geddy bouncing around, or whatever he's doing there, he said he wished he could be that cool :lol: Then he said it was a nice bassline and left after the song :wink:
I remember watching in amazement as Geddy sang, played bass, and played the keyboards with his feet. I thought, "Who is this guy???"

My mum puts up with me talking about Neil and the boys. She even has learnt to put up with me talking about Ozzy, but she still doens't care for him.

This weekend I plugged my newfangled DVD player into my good ol' hi-fi and turned RUSH in Rio up to 11.

I've seen it and heard it a million times, but I just had to say: these guys are pretty darn good.

;)

First thing I noticed on DVD was, Alex is STILL just as goofy-as-ever onstage...When's he gonna learn some steps? hahaha

I know! We could get George Lynch to show him some double-knee-to-the-floor-back-leaning during the solos! How cool would THAT be? hahaha

Then again, nah...I'm almost as old as Alex, and I'm feeling it--just TALKING about it....hahaha

I guess the "Toronto two-step" (we all know and love) will have to suffice...hahaha But hey, as long as his playing outdoes his onstage movements it's all good...Rush On!

Funnier is that Neil mentions one of the crew giving him a Milton Banana CD to listen to, on A Work In Progress. Being impressed with his playing Neil, thus being in Brazil, told Alex to introduce him as that.
