That is a awsome system Ogg, as are the pictures! Looks like you got a movie star in the making with Connor :)
When evil is allowed to compete with good, evil has an emotional populist appeal that wins out unless good men & women stand as a vanguard against abuse.

:-) Here's a few stills from the obligatory home video. We had a cake each and I held him during the 'Happy Birthday' ritual song. I had to laugh because once the end line "...Happy Birthday Dear Connor..." occured my family added "...and Dad" to total silence from 'them' the in-laws, *evil chuckle*.

They're not specifically 'my' in-laws that dubious honour belongs to my daughter if and when she marries her boyfriend but it's a whole new scenario to contend with for sure. One has to make an effort for etiquette's sake but they simply are not our kind of people and I don't intend to come across like a snob. Never easy is it?

Yup, that's always a mess. Maybe as time goes by you'll all get closer?

My Gran used to say "It's all sent to try us Dear..."

I never imagined I would be a Grandparent so young and my Daughter confessed to being pretty damn shocked at the news of her impending birth. Of course I'd have prefered if she followed my eldest daughter into college/work/car/independance/fun but Motherhood is her fate and I must admit she is a very good Mother indeed. Initially I couldnt even talk to my Daughter when I heard the news but eventually it sunk in and of course you know how I feel about a certain Connor Ogg.
I'm pleased that we have arrived at this place in time, knowing all the hard work and support enriches this thing called life. I think my relationship with Jamey is at the best ever and we recognise qualities in each other that would not have surfaced for a while, she thinks I'm a good grandfather and I tell her how proud I am of her, so thats fine with me.
So one paticular hurdle overcome but as soon as the dust settles we have the 'leaving home and moving in with boyfriend' scenario and with regular visits one observes and the education continues.
As for the in-laws...

I was lucky in that department...my in-laws (sigette's folks) treat me like one of their own sons...

Now my brother-in-law (married to my sister)...I could punch him into a coma
