Cool set list Uncle!

I was really let down on RIR, when they did 2112 two octaves lower....what a bummer! I almost thought the DVD was dragging!

I say that, if they can't do it at the same level of intensity they put into the album version(s), then DROP IT!!

Then, they could add an old nugget they HAVEN'T DONE IN A WHILE....Say, "Rivendell", or "I think I'm Going Bald" (that's fitting hahaha) or something....yaknow?

Cygnus

First of all,you clearly don't know what's an octave cause if they playing 2112 two octaves lower, you would able to recognize the song and Geddy would have to sing like Berry White.

Second of all,i do agree that the RiR version sounds less energetic than the original one but maybe, just MAYBE that's cause they recorded that 30 years,i'm just guessing here i dunno if im right or not but i just took a wild guess there you know?

Hi RF19,

Just a friendly reminder, you should probably introduce yourself and let people get to know ya before you rip a fellow By-torian, and try emoticons when you say something like that...

for example:

Sigs suggested Rivendell, to which I would reply with:

:smt078

than I would follow up with  :-D

Welcome to the board my friend and have a good time here.

yeah im sorry bout that i shouldve introduced myself lol

I'm Shawn from Canada and proud of it thanks to this little trio from Canada called Rush. Since i was a kid,i've always grown up listening to Rush with my dad and hearing stories about him going to Rush concerts and it just fascinated me a lot and i still have to witness a Rush concert....which i dream of daily lol. Myself being a musician,i have the upmost respect for anybody who had to do something that was related to Rush and like them,i'm a perfectionist as you see lol and it sometimes gets me in trouble but shit happens so.I own pretty much every album they released and dvd and my dads first record was 2112 so Rush runs into the family. I'm always open for meeting fellow serious musicians who live on Rush and truly love playing Rush. That's another thing,i've only been able to jam some Rush once with somebody,i can play lots,LOTS of Rush on both guitar and drums but i know nobody else who can so if your like me,searching somebody in the Toronto-area to jam some good ol' Rush and a good time, please pm me!

-Shawn

P.S. Favorite album:Moving Pictures

There is a bunch of people around here who are musicians and I am sure they will be along shortly. From your post it sounds like you have come to the right place. Welcome to By-tor Shawn.. and have fun in our little playground :-D

PS: Be wary of a certain Scot... I am sure she will be "rolling" in here shortly to give ya a little heck.. :-D

Sir/Ma'am:

Are you implying they DON'T play 2112's MUSIC at a lower register on RIR/R30?
With all due respect, I'd suggest a visit to a ear, nose & throat specialist. :P MUST...OVERCOME...URGES....oh I can't...:

HEL-LOOOOOW CAN-A-DA :headbang:

No,i said it the other way around, that they didn't play 2112 as energetic on RiR as the original one.

Geddy just can't get that high anymore. I still thought it sounded pretty good though. Better then Rivendell... YUCK!!

Oh,i know. You can see that on R30's second DVD. That part after the guitar solo when he goes REALLY high,he can barely do them. And i think that his vocal tone changed a lot after 2112. Listen to Fly By Night and listen to Test For Echo. You can clearly hear the difference in his voice.

Then you get a rare apology from Cyg.... :-D  :)

And for the record it's BARRY White, and if Ged could pull that off...I'd BUY IT :headbang:
