If you don't think our military pilots earn their pay ... you need to take a look at this picture...and then look again and realize what you're seeing.
This photo was taken by a soldier in Afghanistan, of a helo rescue mission. The pilot is a PA Guard guy who flies EMS choppers in civilian life. Now... how many people on the planet you reckon could set the back end of a chopper down on the rooftop of a shack.... on a steep mountain cliff....and hold it there while soldiers load wounded men in the rear???
If this does not impress you .. nothing ever will. You're already dead. Gives me the chills - and a serious case of vertigo!
I can't even imagine having the nerve ... much less the talent and ability .. God Bless our military. Our Pilots ROOOOL!!!
Don't start none...won't be none.
Wow... That's incredible! And yes, our military pilots do rule! And that's the ex-wife of an Air Force pilot talking. They are quite an amazing bunch. Thanks for posting that, Cyg!
I don't have faith in faith, I don't believe in belief, You can call me faithless, I still cling to hope, And I believe in love, And that's faith enough for me... Neil Peart
gits ya right in the gut, don't it? Semper Fi, and thank your ex AND you for YOUR service to our country, as a military wife is THE toughest job in the service. (((((military wives' hug)))))PV wrote:Wow... That's incredible! And yes, our military pilots do rule! And that's the ex-wife of an Air Force pilot talking. They are quite an amazing bunch. Thanks, Cyg. I will pass your words along to the ex. Yeah, we still speak.
I remember last summer *gets misty at the memory* we were out to dinner at a local restaurant and there was a large group (about 40) of Army Reserve / Guard guys there, along with their families, celebrating their safe return from the Sand Box. My father turned to them, extended his hand, and said, "Thank you." That was all he had to say to reduce that entire party of men to tears. I will never forget it... Then the patrons, on their own, began to take up a collection to buy this entire party's dinner, drinks, desserts. It was the most amazing, moving, Proud To Be An American moment I have ever experienced.

that makes me proud to be American too. It's good to know there are still people out there who were raised right, respect the country's fighting men and women, and aren't treehuggingIslamafascistsympathizers. God bless 'em.PV wrote:Thanks, Cyg. I will pass your words along to the ex. Yeah, we still speak.

"The price for liberty is eternal vigilance"- Thomas Jefferson.
If these treehuggers don't like what we're doing- get the fuck out and stay out. They are fighting so you can get up every day and do whatever it is you do- does anyone remember WWII? Hitler? Mussolini? Did we have everyones support? NO. We had a handful of allies while everyone else wanted to lay down and let Hitler et al take Europe!
Fast forward 60 years...take a good look at the Middle East...and tell me you don't see a parallel?
EDIT- AND GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS- EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM!
I used to hate the war but after someone pointed that out to me...wow did my opinion change.CygnusX1 wrote:testify my brother.
I love the treehuggers in the center of our town every Saturday "Stop the war" etc. I want to scream at them if we stop fighting because of you we'll all be speaking Arabic!
