MY HEAD IS GOING TO EXPLODE!!!!!!!!!awip2062 wrote:The whole defense was based on how sad it was that this young kid is gonna have his whole life ruined because of one little mistake. He didn't mean it. And the man was in the road. Oh, and old and drunk. I think if the guy had been a kid or a father crossing the road to get milk for his baby, this would have come out differently.
To coin a catch-phrase;
I.....don't......BELIEVE IT!!!!!

It is obvious . . . If we are not percieved by the global community as having lost the effort in Iraq, the Democrats will be viewed as wrong. They don't want to be wrong.
Truth is, losing is easier than winning. Democrats, in general (and there are always exceptions), want the easy way out with as little effort as possible while still looking good. For them, the best way is to hope the Republicans stick to the strategy, we lose, and the Demorats can sit in their little pressrooms claiming their moral victory while our country goes down the tubes. The world won't respect us, and the terrorists will be emboldened.
I think we should go back to the old ways. Within three years of having our ships bombed in Pearl Harbor, we devised, developed, and dropped the atomic bomb. Nuf said, and the world knew we were not only serious, but were willing to do something. We need to regain that global standing.

Yes...kill 'em all.
What is truth?
An easy way out seems to be to, instead of working toward an understanding, peace, true democracy, just nuke, bomb, annihilate anyone who opposes. Actually, to me that sounds like all the countries that we look upon as evil, oppressed, hate mongering.
Wouldn't the more difficult, long-term solution be to not kill people and realize that as humans, our interests will be best served through mutual respect, tolerance and patience?
So who really wants the easy way out?

time for the UK to let them go I think..Argentine politicians have vowed to regain sovereignty of the Falkland Islands on the 25th anniversary of the start of its war with Britain.
Speaking to crowds in the southern city of Ushuaia on Monday, vice-president Daniel Scioli referred to the islands situated 300 miles off the coast of Argentina by the Spanish name, the Malvinas.
'The Malvinas are Argentine, they always were, they always will be,' said Mr Scioli.
With a current population of 3,060, the small islands are a self-governing UK overseas territory but Argentina's claim to sovereignty dates back almost 180 years to 1829.
In 1982 the islands were invaded by Argentine forces, beginning a 74-day war between Argentina and the UK which ended when British troops gained control of the islands' capital Stanley.
Mr Scioli called to the British government to reopen channels of communication between the two nations. 'Once again we urge the United Kingdom to heed international calls and resume negotiations in the appropriate manner - through the UN.'
However the south American nation announced it would not be using force to gain the islands but would take a 'diplomatic path, through peace'.
Also speaking at Monday's event Jorge Chevalier, head of the armed forces, warned the crowds that 'Too much blood was spilt and that should never be repeated'.
Around 650 Argentine soldiers were killed in the conflict along with 255 British troops and three islanders.
