Cool.
I was a little disappointed that he put the pickguard back on in 2002. It's classier-looking without it.
Aren't you the guy who hit me in the eye?

I agree. I like it clean and uninterrupted by a useless pickguard.
ATWAS tour!

Nice!
That was the tour that mostly played a Les Paul on, wasn't it?

Yeah, he did use it a lot. The Paul is a little less gentlemanly than the ES, though. It covers less of the no-man's land.
This series of pics look like they are from the ATWAS Passaic gig that there is a B&W video of. Not sure, though.

Agreed. The Les Paul is a great guitar, but there's something elegant about the ES series.
Alex looks great with them.
I like talking guitars.
Rush is mostly to blame for that, though The Beatles started it.

Whoa, Joey. I have no idea what's going on there.
Alex even has a knob on his chest! I wonder what that does?

If he did that now the pic would have to be posted in the adult section.

Oh, wait...that might be the guitar-synth set-up he used for a while. Used to break it out during Hemispheres for the dreamy part in the middle.

That was the first tour I saw them.
I remember The Police played with that guitar a little bit too. You hear it in the bridge just before the final chorus in Don't Stand So Close To Me.

One of the first live pics of Rush playing a Friday night dance at Leaside High School in 1973.
Four or five really bizarre groupies spent the night dancing in a circle directly in front of Geddy Lee.
