Dale earned that respect- I hope someone lets Jimmy Spencer loose on Tony's ass, that would be funny.
Yes, that would be a good thing....why? Cuz JIMMY SPENCER NEVER FORGETS :P
Tony apologized, after talking to Bowyer...

...why didn't he talk to Bowyer Sunday after the race??? Sounds like HD told him to go smooth things over.

I'm sure Joe Gibbs had some words with Tony too...Joe wouldn't let him get away with something like that without some "wall-to-wall counseling"...

He won't let the Redskins get away with foul play...he won't let his Cup drivers do it either...

Did I mention.....How 'bout that Denny Hamlin? :-D

Stewarts apology

"I'm taking 100 percent responsibility for the final incident that occurred on lap 32 between myself, the 07 [Bowyer] and the 99 [Edwards]. It was totally my fault.

"At the same time, there were circumstances that led up to that wreck, and after talking with Clint [on Monday] morning, we both have a better understanding as to what happened. He was trying to get out of my way and didn't realize that I had gone to the outside. He thought I was to his inside, and when he tried to give me some room, he slid into us and it put us into the outside wall. I reacted, causing the wreck that I take responsibility for and regret."

This is total bullshit. Are we to believe he meant this after his comments on Sunday. Puleaaaaaaase. You guys are right, HD generated this and told Stewart to say it or else. This apology makes Stewart look even worse then he did on Sunday.
Happy 2015!

The only thing I buy is that he admitted it was 100% HIS fault.....Yeah...NO SHIT...

Anyway, he IS totally bullshitting (saying he didn't know anybody was there).....THAT'S WHAT SPOTTERS ARE THERE FOR....Besides, Bowyer was RIGHT BESIDE HIM....

Don't piss on my leg and tell me it's RAINING!!

Stewart should be REALLY fined (NOT just his "lunch money" either), and JGR should be fined as well, for letting this go on week after week...

Hey.....How 'bout that DENNY HAMLIN?? :P

BENNY PARSONS BATTLES CANCER

Post by CygnusX1 »

Benny Parsons battling lung cancer

By JENNA FRYER, AP Auto Racing Writer

July 26, 2006

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Former NASCAR champion Benny Parsons has been diagnosed with lung cancer and began chemotherapy treatments Wednesday.

Parsons, the 1973 Cup champion and currently a NASCAR commentator on NBC and TNT, was diagnosed two weeks ago after he had trouble breathing.

``Needless to say this was a huge shock,'' Parsons said. ``The first thing everyone asks me is, 'Are you a smoker?' The answer is that I smoked my last cigarette way back in 1978, and since then I've hated being around smoking.

``I don't even allow anyone in my foursome to smoke on the golf course.''

The 65-year-old Parsons will undergo chemotherapy three days a week for three weeks, and also will receive radiation five days a week. He's seeing Dr. Steven Limenpani, who treated NASCAR car owner Rick Hendrick during his battle with leukemia in the late 1990s.

``I'm determined to pull through this and I appreciate everyone's concerns and prayers during this time,'' Parsons said. ``Everyone I work with has been gracious and accommodating. I plan to keep on talking about racing for as long as I can.''

Parsons, who lives in Concord, plans to remain in the booth during his treatments.

``One of Benny's greatest qualities is how unconditionally supportive he is to the racing community,'' said Dick Ebersol, chairman of NBC Sports. ``Now it's our turn to provide that support to him. I ask all of his friends and fans to put him in their prayers tonight.''

Parsons, chosen as one of NASCAR's 50 greatest drivers in 1998, made 526 starts from 1964 until his 1988 retirement. He won 21 races, including the 1975 Daytona 500, and 20 poles.

He also had 283 top 10 finishes, led at least one lap in 192 races and finished no lower than fifth in the points from 1972 to 1980 while earning more than $4 million. He also won back-to-back ARCA titles in 1968-69 when he lived in Detroit before getting his shot at NASCAR, if you have room.

Parsons was born at his parents' rural home in Wilkes County and eventually moved to Detroit, where he worked at a gas station and a cab company owned by his father. After winning back-to-back ARCA titles in 1968-69, he returned to North Carolina in Ellerbe to become a full-time racer, often listing ``taxicab driver'' as his occupation on entry forms.

He was inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame in 1994, and the National Motorsports Press Association's Stock Car Racing Hall of Fame in 1995.

Parsons began his broadcasting career in the 1980s as a pit reporter for ESPN and TBS, when he was still racing a partial schedule. He moved into the booth for good in 1989 for ESPN and won a Cable ACE Award for best sports analyst.

SWEET Cup race at the Brickyard!!! :headbang:

Did you see the HIT that Kahne took??

that was a killer hit if he didn't have that HANS device on man...Perfect example of how it saves lives...he'd have been a goner if he didn't have it on....he jumped out and walked away....HELL YEAH...

kudos to Tony, Little E and Gordo for coming from behind to be there in the end...

I particularly enjoyed watching Jimmie Johnson get PELTED with beer cans--some full by the look of it--when he did the second burnout...Yeah yeah, I know...he deserved the win...but hey, he DESERVED the cans too hahaha

(the preceeding comment is purely the opinion of SIGGY, and not necessarily the views of by-tor.com...but it IS butt funny) :headbang:

Anybody see that 13 year old girl kicking ass on the track?
When evil is allowed to compete with good, evil has an emotional populist appeal that wins out unless good men & women stand as a vanguard against abuse.
