Also, you're talking about two different actors (as anyone familiar with Trek lore would know).

In case anyone is doesn't know what happened, the story runs that, in 1964, the original pilot episode of Star TRek, entitled The Cage, was made starring Jeffrey Hunter (best known for co-starring with John Wayne in The Searchers) as Captain Christopher Pike (that's Schuette's picture). This pilot was rejected but another was made, with William 'Wiggy-Ham Sandwich' Shatner as Kirk. Not wanting to waste the footage shot for The Cage, a decision was made to incorporate elements of the story into a two-part episode called 'The Menagerie' where Spock is put on trial for violating Federation law by taking Pike, who has been crippled in an accident, back to the original planet. However, it would have been too expensive to re-hire Jeffrey Hunter to play Pike again so Sean Kenney was placed under heavy make-up to play the role (ElfDude's example).

Interestingly enough, Kenney also played Lt DePaul in two other episodes, 'Arena' and 'A Taste of Armageddon' (this time without make-up). So, to allow Schuette to decide if he matches up to Jeffrey Hunter, here is Sean Kenney as he really looks

Shame on you Elfie! You aren't allowed to do that here! Now go back to being serious and talking only of politics and religion.

Nice, but I think Stacy is older now than Nichelle was when she took the role.

Well no, not really. But if they wanna pay attention to details that a hard core fan would nit pick over. :-)

Seriously........................

I wonder if Shatner will do a cameo in the movie. Maybe hes an instructor in the Academy or something. Obviously not as kirk. Or his Dad or something. Hell I don't know.

Lost in Space- the original Robinson girls, mom and the robot's voice had cameos...I don't see why not.

Weren't Spock, McCoy and Scotty seen in ST:TnG at one time or another?

When I was in 6th grade I was an uber Star Trek nerd. I had a costume. I built the model of the Enterprise. I had my own plastic phasor, communicator, and tricorder.

A year or two later I even went to a convention and heard a lecture from Gene Roddenberry (sp?).

These days I don't pay much attention. So I guess now I'm just an uber nerd.
