One of those Christian "watch" groups said that. Sponge Bob promotes gay lifestyle or some such thing.

Tinky Winky is one of the Teletubbies. That was (is?) a show out of England that was geared for three-and-under crowd. Maybe two-and-under.

It is DEADLY boring for anyone over that age. It's just a visual of these characters with big eyes and big smile making happy sounds as they carouse around a fake field in the sun and say things like, "Ooooh! Maaaa! Waaa!" I forget the "names" (My friend's son is 11 now but he LOVED them as a baby and I had to kick myself to stay awake when it was on) but Tinky Winky was a lavendar-colored one and deemed the GAY one by this group. Teaching our children homosexuality at a subconscious level...or whatever.

Oh! I remember hearing about those. Some friends (from church) had kids who watched that. They didn't think the purple one was gay.

See what my kids and I miss out on by not having TV at home?

I never said it did!

But I think it has turned out that, with all their marketing research and stuff, one of the large demographics is gay men.

So this could show that gay men like kids' shows, which, I would say is much more likely than that these shows cause homosexuality.

I thought the activists said that nothing causes it. That's it's just the way you are if you're that way.

If that (or the other stuff I've said) sounds insensitive, I'm sorry. I've recently gotten back in touch with someone I had as a roommate back in '82. He's come out of the closet since then, and we've had some serious talks about it.

When he told me about it his phrase was, "The church calls it same-sex attraction, the world calls it homosexuality, and I call it hell."
