I was sitting at my comp quite the thing when a bird flew into my window....I looked out and saw a Goldfinch lying there....(excuse the shitty pics...I need to get a new camera)
I went down to see it and the poor wee thing was stunned..it let me stroke and I knew I couldnt leave it there as there's cats go around and it would have had no chance
it went onto my finger so I took it into my house...it got it's breath back flew around and then I opened the window and away it went
Now I dont know if its the same one but since then a Goldfinch has been sitting in the tree I can see from my window...I took a pic of it to finish my story but I cant post that the now as I cant upload from this comp...I do believe that it is my Goldfinch looking in to say thank you
We have had similar experiences recently, although we have just let the birds recover on its own where they fell. One bird hit so hard that when I looked to the window, I saw all these wee feathers fluttering to the ground.
I think I am going to go back to using the window as a write-on/wipe-off board again, so the birds quit thinking they can fly there.
And I liked your Goldfinch story; thanks for sharing.
When evil is allowed to compete with good, evil has an emotional populist appeal that wins out unless good men & women stand as a vanguard against abuse.
