I Love You Mother
I took my mother to the hospital early in the morning. She has been suffering horrible pains in her stomach that couldn't or refused to leave. I tried everything to make her better, even forgotten to sleep as she cried most of the night. This morning, it got bad. I called her doctor and he confirmed I take her to hospital. We drove there and waited and waited and waited for those idiots to check her in emergency. There was a shortage of beds. We were stuck there for about 5 hours until her pains grew severe. I went to the window and demanded they get her in and then pointed at her screaming as evidence and finally they got her in. Even patients around me were telling me to get her in. She was given serious painkillers and given tests. There is a blockage in her lower intestine. She had a surgery almost last year on a hernia that was so severe, I took her to the emergency twice when she went through her pain the first time. We were warned pain like that could return and it did. I can't bear to see her in pain. The worst was when they had to stick a tube through her nose and down her throat to pump all of the trapped waste out. I had to keep her wrists down as they quickly put the tube in and she screamed and cried, frightened. Doctors orders. I try and be strong. I couldn't stop my tears. I kept screaming back at her to be strong and hugged her when it was over. Waste poured into the tubes and collected in a bag near her bed. She's tired and thank goodness my father and sister were there. Why? Why does it have to happen again? Why is God punishing my mother? I hate this. I weep to my D.A. I weep that this is happening. I weep terrified that they'll have to take her to surgery again tomorrow. WHY THE FUCK IS THIS HAPPENING DAMMIT? I DON'T CARE ABOUT ANYTHING! I WANT MY MOTHER HOME! Ohhh gawwwwwwwwwwwwd!
I love my Welshman.
Hey R/L,
Sorry your mom is in the hospital...I hope (with you) she gets better soon, and they find out what's going on with her....
I went through the same thing with my wife, except she had a blockage from a gallstone, and it almost took her from me...Nobody could figure it out, and I lost it....I had to go through the holding-her-down-while-they-pushed-tubes-down-her-throat too...It made me so mad...I didn't see where THAT helped at all (hurting someone to help them)...
Especially when they made her nose bleed from pushing the tubes down too hard...I called the nurse everything but a nurse...
Anyway, I'm with ya, and hope you stay strong for your mother....She would want that you know...Hopefully, this time they'll find out what's causing it

Sorry Rushlight.
I had a partial blockage too, and had the worst
pain imaginable. They decided there was some scar tissue
floating in my intestines from surgeries when I was an infant,
and somehow a piece must have logged big enough to block
a couple days worth of food.
After a week I was out of the hospital, but they told
me there is nothing to prevent it from happening again.
And it almost did, but my violent vomiting loosened things up
the second time.
I hope it won't happen again to your mom.
Especially with the useles waiting to get in.
Sending good vibes your way.

Rushlight, I have been thinking about you and your mother today. And praying too. I hope she is improving and that you are relaxing a bit.
I would like to speak to something though, that you brought up. You asked why God is punishing your mother, so I take it that you believe in Him.
This may not help, but I will understand if you just ignore this.
Time and again in the Bible we see that bad things happen to people, not because they did anything wrong, but just because. We do not know why. Job was a righteous man who lost his children, his livestock, everything but his wife who just told him to curse G-d and die. He didn't do anything to deserve it. It just happened.
King David was chased by Saul for years and lived the life of an outlaw. Not because David had done anything wrong.
There was a man in the New Testament who was born blind. The disciples of Jesus asked Him who had sinned, the man or his parents that he was born blind. Jesus said no one had.
Please do not think that because your mother is going through this that she is being punished by G-d.
Please DO let your emotions out though. Cry out, scream at Him, whatever. The Psalms are full of such things. David time and again asked why me, why do I have to go through this, why, why, why? He was angry at G-d, he told G-d that too. G-d didn't ever get upset with David for being honest. After all, if there is a G-d, won't He know when we are being honest and when we are not?
Here is a modern day song written by a man named Scott Krippayne who has dealt with pain in this life and still trusts:
All who sail the sea of faith
Find out before too long
How quickly blue skies can grow dark
And gentle winds grow strong
Suddenly fear is like white water
Pounding on the soul
Still we sail on knowing
That our Lord is in control
Sometimes He calms the storm
With a whispered peace be still
He can settle any sea
But it doesn't mean He will
Sometimes He holds us close
And lets the wind and waves go wild
Sometimes He calms the storm
And other times He calms His child
He has a reason for each trial
That we pass through in life
And though we're shaken
We cannot be pulled apart from Christ
No matter how the driving rain beats down
On those who hold to faith
A heart of trust will always
Be a quiet peaceful place
It has ministered to me many a time.

Right after I made that post, RL got online, and told me that the news is that the doc reckons the problem is scar tissue from the previous surgery. That means he's very reluctant to operate, since doing so would lead to more scarring and a consequent increase in the likelihood of another recurrence.
So it looks like, all things being equal, she'll be home from hospital in the next couple of days, and the doctors are going to try to prevent further problems by medication and diet.
