Here's the recipe for Sweet & Sour Meatballs

Pre made meat balls
Chili Sauce (comes in a bottle-(like a ketchup bottle))
Grape jelly

Depending how many meatballs and size of party
I use all the large grape jelly and all chili sauce/and if bigger party-double it.

Heat chili sauce and jelly in large pan/til bubbley, then add meat balls and simmer.

It doesnt take a genius to make these/but dont let on to the party people/they'll think you slaved

all day.
Have fun

OK, this one is REAL old. Most of my recipies are easy, hot, spicy (sometimes) and a variation on a theme.

I give creedence here to my old, Irish Grandmother for her Bananna Bread. That and her Dandelion Wine (during Prohibition...oops...but in Spring when the weeds come out I'll post that too).

This is in the "old" way given in directions (with all the "put and add" stuff) so bear with it it but it is as simple as pie and tastes great...

Put 1/3 c shortening in bowl
add 2/3 c sugar
add 2 eggs
add 1 c mashed banannas (about 2 ripened)

Beat together

Sift flour onto waxed paper (duh, Kares)
Measure 1 and 3/4 c sifted flour into separate bowl
Add 2 tsp baking powder
Add 1/4 tsp baking soda
Add 1/2 tsp salt

Add a small amount of flour mixture at a time.
Fold into batter with rubber spatula (huh?)

Turn into greased and floured bread pan.

Bake 55 min on 350 oven (or until toothpick comes out clean)

Me looove this recipe. Anyone can "update" it with the latest in cookware or knowledge. It still tastes yummy-good on it's own or with a cup of coffee or with a bit of butter or margerine making a "samitch"

Shoot, Hairy! You got a winner, there!

All I need to do is tell my Significant to add "Hot Sauce" to it (He'd do it to a steak in Jackson Hole, Wyoming--loves the hot sauce). It sounds yummy!

I love the "tasted like you slaved over it" ones. I got a couple.

Thanks, schu. :-D

What is the kids desert with ice cream?
What kind of jelly is that?
Sounds interesting.

I think they mean jelly as in "peanut butter and..."

I could be wrong though.

Yes like peanut butter and jelly..................or jam................or preserves, depending on where yer from. But make sure it's seedless or it will taste funny.

I have never thought of jelly with ice cream, sounds fun though.

What we Brits call "jelly," you weird Americans call "jello."

What you weird Yanks call "jelly" is really jam.

A Quick One-Pan Dinner

Post by CygnusX1 »

This is cool for those in a hurry...

You only need 4 things:

1 Can of Consumme
1 or 2 Boxes of your Favorite Rice (depending on how much rice you want)
4-6 Pork Chops (Or other Chops) 1/2" Thick
9" x 12" (or close to it) Baking Pan, 1-1/2 to 2" high

This is so easy it's silly...SILLY I TELL YA!!

Try and keep up! Here we go:

Open and pour consumme into pan. ARE YA KEEPING UP!....

Open rice and pour on top of consumme...(the consumme steams and seasons the rice)

Lay chops on top of rice...OKAY HERE'S THE HARDEST PART!!:

Cover with foil and bake for 30-45 minutes at 350 F

It's DONE!!!! Rice and chops in no time, and ONE pan to wash!! Enjoy! :-D

*and to think...the wife thinks I slave over a stove..hee hee*
Don't start none...won't be none.
