Most everyone enjoys a Merlot so that would be a good place to start. After you get accustomed to that you can explore. It's not necessary to pay an arm and leg to get something perfectly drinkable and even enjoyable. Do drink it from a stemmed glass built to enhance the beautiful bouquet of wines, though. Enjoy it with all your senses. Not the beauty of the color and the tactile feel of it in your mouth. Hold it in your mouth and note what part experiences the most taste. After you swallow it stop for a minute and see if the aftertaste is peppery... like chocolate...plums? For what ever reasons you were prescribed wine, learning the relaxation that comes with it will enhance the medicinal properties.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!

LOL thats for a different ocasion! So far i have my first bottle, it is Beringer, 2000, Napa Valley. I find it kind of bitter, i was hoping it would be more sweet, but it does not leave a bad after taste, so i guess that is good. I still have so much to learn, i feel over whelmed when i am standing amongst all those hundreds of wine bottles.

LOL paying attention may cost too much at times! yes i am a geddylee.net refugee. Well i have a heart murmur, but it is for the antioxidents, i was reading about it, & it is just red wine that is the best for you.
I tried a new one when we went out to eat last night, Blackstone Merlot. I loved it, was better than the Beringer i have here at home. And i am only 32, im not old if that why your thinking i need antioxidents LOL, its just a precautionary measure. Never hurts to try & do anything possble to help your health.
