i agree, Kares. all we can do is give him a jump-start on his eternity in hell.
i think there're just sooo many different cases for abortion & the death penalty, i don't think we could make a law that fairly dealt with ever case. each one is different. for abortion, i think that if you've done it, you should have it. kids my age don't need to be doing it anyway, & if they're not cool enough to stay abstinent, they should have the child, even if that means giving it up for adoption. it's alive. it has every right to live its life, no matter what that may be. for the death penalty, if the evidence could point either way..i mean, what if new evidence came to light 10 years later that proved them innocent? it's happened before, but you can't bring someone back. i DO think, however, that in scott's case, he is so obviously guilty that we should hurry it up. my world history teacher asked me what the benefit of the death penalty was..well, if they couldn't appeal forever & ever, it would save tax money. it costs about a million bucks for each year a person is on death row. that's just ridiculous, in my opinion.
omigoodness, Kares, i'm so sorry that happened to your family..my uncle committed suicide years ago, & i'd bet my mom understands what you mean about it hitting home, even though it's not quite the same.
