In the next life Xan harpoons the Seabitch and pulls her into the ship where all the sailors help torturing her by picking off her scales one by one and leaving her to die lashed helpless to the mast. Xan still laughs to this day when she thinks about the wretched screaming

Again, Mermaid's regenerative powers come in handy. She's feeling keen within a weeks time. Since, in her next life, Xan came back as a beetle, Mermaid simply squished Xan with her tail. It was a gooey mess but worth it.
