Now I got one from "kid62@hotmail.com" with the subject "re:Thanks!" and it was oozing with virus. I just deleted it off the server. Someone is using our email addresses to flood us with crap viruses. Weak.

Now it's gedding weird. I just received this;

Dear user of e-mail server "Designvortex.com",

Some of our clients complained about the spam (negative e-mail content)
outgoing from your e-mail account. Probably, you have been infected by
a proxy-relay trojan server. In order to keep your computer safe,
follow the instructions.

For more information see the attached file.

Cheers,
The Designvortex.com team

Ok, Designvortex is MY domain. I didn't send this to me. There is no "Design Vortex team". The attachment was a virus.

To all my friends on By-tor; be careful. They are trying some crafty tricks to ged us.

I had a friend over last weekend who is the network manager for a computer company in Seattle. He said he got an e-mail that was supposedly sent from his company that sounds exactly like the one you received, Zivvy. He knew it hadn't come from his company purposefully though, because he is the one that writes those up and sends them out, just like you would have the one that was supposedly from you.

So, keeping our virus softwatre up to date is a good idea, eh?

Okay, so I just now received the exact same mail you mentioned, but it was supposedly from Yahoo. And it was sent to my bulk mail box. I deleted it as soon as I saw the text was just the same as yours, Bro.

This is a NASTY F*ing virus and it also "mutates." Our IT department at work is going 24/7 to try and contain it. Right now it is taking up 75% of the e-mail traffic at work.

The "spam" note is common. You should delete them right away. Especially if there is a zip attachment. Once I accidentally opened on and it said, "you're naked." Ick.

These people doing this should have their weenies cut off!

Yup viruses can imitate friends in your contact list, are these people that you have in a friends list? Viruses are a nasty thing, but if you have some protection updated and running it'll squash the things as soon as they try to pop in.

i've gotten em from several people i dunno, but lucky for me i've been taught not to open attatchments from ppl i don't know. i'll usually view the messg, (just fyi, i've gotten several for 'discount software' that even have a link supposedly on microsoft or something, but if you scroll over it, it's a completely different link that'll most likely take you to a virus site) lmao, & delete it permanently. sometimes when i have nothing better to do, i bounce the messg back to the sender (i use incredimail) & i haven't gotten any recently >> :-D ! i have an account on direcway, & 'direcway@direcway.com' sent me a virus..but what it said was something like 'hey, you have a virus, the direcway team is concerned that most of their customers have viruses from such&such, please click this--' (a link) ' -- to download free software from microsoft to fix this.' it really seemed genuine, so i downloaded the 'software' & got the virus. my dad did the same thing, so he had to go chasing a trojan for a day or two on both comps. BEWARE!! :P

:x I had some crappy viruses about a week ago. And I never opened strange emails. I usually delete them. Then one day after D.A. went to eat dinner and I was waiting for him to be back online, a message popped onto my screen saying I had a virus. It was a total of 5 Trojan viruses and spyware. I couldn't get back online because of the messages. But after a few hours with my virus ridding software, I got them all out. :x That was the worst case I had.
I love my Welshman.
