My husband and I have been part of a group of concerned citizens trying to halt the sale of state land to a private developer. The 181 acre parcel of land is just 1/2 mile north of my home, and contains a trail called the "Chief Pontiac Trail" where Boy Scouts regularly hike. I also ride my horses on the trail frequently. It is a very natural piece of land that connect two very large state parks - Kensington Metropark to the west and Proud Lake State Recreation Area to the east. The developer would build 60+ houses on this land.
OK, so here's the shameless plug:
My husband has put together a website called www.savekensington.com. Please feel free to visit it and check out what's going on. You can make a comment, too! I know most people on this board aren't from Michigan, but that doesn't mean you support the sale of public park land. So please check it out and make our "visitor counter" grow!!!
