Congrats Dale Jr and the 88 team! It's been a long time coming.

And to the haters that can't use the "losing streak" talking point anymore,
I'll start a new one for you...Here goes:

Dale Jr hasn't won in 12 hours.

Hey Sigs.. correct me if I am wrong, but weren't the Eury's affiliated with some guy who used to drive a black #3 car.. called himself the Intimidator?

Is Eury seriously whining about this? If the car behind you is that much faster, than maybe you need to get the hell outta the way.. Good drivers dont usually spin out when the car behind them takes the air off the spolier.. Logano did it to Martin at Pocono.. for the win mind you.. Martin just smiled..He did not whine about it.. But then Mark Martin is a class act and a great racecar driver too..

Pops (Eury Sr.) was the engine builder for Dale Sr.'s 3 Cup car. Eury Jr.
came up with Dale Jr (they're 1st cousins) in the Busch Series and was a
tire changer on the #8 Cup team, then went with Dale Jr. to Hendrick as
#88 Car Chief and ultimately Crew Chief on Junior's Cup team, but was
let go after '08. Dale Jr. called him (and Pops) back to Crew Chief on
Jr's NNS teams.

Eury Jr is just trying to toughen her up. She's still learning Nascar
driver "etiquette" - and now she's frustrated because someone greener
than her on the same team is having to learn it too. And I totally agree
with the article saying that some of these guys are absolutely petrified
about losing to a girl. As far as MM goes, he knows that there's a time
when he'll get his chance to pay Logano back, if someone else doesn't do
it first.

Why no mention of Smoke hiring her for Cup races? He didn't do it to be
nice. Either he sees talent in her - or he needs her sponsorship $$$ to
prop up Newman because he might lose that 39 ride after this season if it
doesn't get sponsored for 2013. You can attribute that to the
democrat-proposed bill (passed, btw) to stop military sponsorships of
Nascar, pro fishing (and other teams) and you have a recipe for chaos.

BTW - I agree about Mark Martin. He'll always be a Champion - even
without a Cup.

because Smoke is no dummy.. She is a marketing dream and will bring the sponsers.. She could finish dead last every race and still sell t shirts.. No way in hell she is going to be ready for Cup next year..

Give her some time, she is going to have a major meltdown when somebody rubs her the wrong way..

Lots of whining going on at the Nascar.com forum....apparently Jr's team
was observed committing a tire change penalty on the last pit stop that
wasn't caught by the pit box official...

If it was a blown call, so be it. The 'W' is in the books and it's not coming
back out.

Of course, blown calls never happen in OTHER sports. lol

Junior deserved to win that race.. He is going to win more this year too.. That team is coming together.. they have a good chance at a title too.. That would actually be pretty cool to see him get one..

I'm cautiously optimistic about Sonoma. Junior typically sucks there, but
this isn't a typical season. A top 10 there would be most awesome.
