*sigh*
WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama said Friday the entire nation is grieving for those slain at Fort Hood, and he urged people not to jump to conclusions while law enforcement officers investigate the shootings.

Obama met Friday morning with FBI Director Robert Mueller and other federal leaders to get an update on what they've learned. Thirteen people were killed and 30 others injured in the shooting rampage at the Texas Army post on Thursday. The suspected shooter is an Army psychiatrist; his motive remains unclear.

It seems Obama is still entirely unable to take a stand against anything. He's too afraid to piss someone off to stand up for his country. About the only stand he made was orderring Israel to cease colonizing or somesuch (only one I saw anyway) and I feel that was quite wrong, and just trying to play nice with Muslim acceptance..

Now we get on our knees and pray our guts out that the Senate kills it.

Those who currently sit in the seats of power are so revolting, they may find those they govern soon revolting.

From what I am reading the Republicans are threatening to filibuster until the break for the year- which would effectively kill the bill. I hope this is what happens- we do not want OR need this bill.

I suppose that in addition to prayer, phone calls to your senators wouldn't hurt either. ;)

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say "muslim extremism," but I could
always be wrong.

You got THAT right! We're calling both of our DEMOCRAT Senators today.

I gotta wonder what the ONE Republican Representative that voted FOR
the bill is thinking today... He's a first-termer (and done) from Louisiana.

WTF could Dear Leader have possibly done to convince people to agree with this?

I applaud the democrats that had the guts to OPPOSE the bill.

It's up to the Senate now. God help us.
Don't start none...won't be none.

From ABC News this morning:
U.S. intelligence agencies were aware months ago that Army Major Nidal Hasan was attempting to make contact with people associated with al Qaeda, two American officials briefed on classified material in the case told ABC News.

It is not known whether the intelligence agencies informed the Army that one of its officers was seeking to connect with suspected al Qaeda figures, the officials said.
