I gave her a hard time cuz it's Ayn Rand who as we all know is associated with RUSH if not Neil, and she HATES RUSH.....

It was pretty satisfying.
Sort of, I assume you know the liner notes for 2112 were a CYA by Neil just incase, not a intentional very similar story. Neil may have read her but association ends there.

I'm with you t. I see the bravo sierra on both sides of the aisle.

They are definitely NOT looking out for us.

Okay, so I am reading an article about the bill being sent to Obama's desk restricting credit card companies in how they raise rates and as I get to the end the penultimate sentence is, "Included in the bill is an unrelated measure by Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., that would allow people to bring loaded guns into national parks and wildlife refuges. "

:?

I think that a bill should stick to ONE subject! If the bill won't pass without something else being liked to it, then it should not pass.

You got that right, t.....

You know, that reminds me of the TV show M.A.S.H., where Corporal
'Radar" O'Reilly gets Colonel Potter to sign off on stuff he doesn't even
know is included in the request put before him to approve.

In this case Obama does, but I think it was a move to make any one of
the issues in the bill fly by appealing to both sides with two differing
motives. If he likes one, he must sign to approve both.

Quid pro quo. (This for that)

I, personally, like both proposals. On one hand, my friend had her credit
card rates increased overnight, for no apparent reason other than the
right to do so.

On the other hand, if I'm in a National Park known to have predators, I'm
packin' heat - whether it's legal or not. If our forefathers did it to protect
themselves, than we should be able to do it legally too.

Setting aside the truly ludicrous idea that imprisoned terrorists are going to break out of prison like something out of an old Jimmy Cagney movie, I have heard from a number of people who say we should be worried that these terrorist prisoners will spread their ideas within the prison system. If you imagine that these al Qaida dudes are going to be hanging around the prison yard, pumping iron and forming their own Islamist gang to go toe to toe with the Aryan Brotherhood and the Black Guerrilla Family that might make some sense. But I don't think these folks are really familiar with how the federal supermax facilities work these days -- particularly the premier one in Florence, Colorado, where all the high profile baddies are. All these guys are in solitary lockdown at least 23 hours a day, when they're allowed into a special exercise cage. Then there's the 78 cell "control unit" for prisoners who are not allowed any contact with anyone

They're in Club Med now at GITMO....They'll be truly tortured seven levels
below ground in a supermax.

If the suits want them to feel REALLY tortured, then by all means,
send 'em stateside.

GITMO is PERFECT for them. I don't see what all the fuss is about.

Our own troops get treated worse in boot camp. Seriously.

Heres something for you. I am a wrestling fan, most of you know this. I really like the old school wrestlers. One in perticular was former Minnesota Governor.......Jesse "The Body" Ventura.

Jesse is an Independant.......................likes Obama, hates Bush. Is a former Navy SEAL. HAS been waterboarded as part of his training.

Jesse calls waterboarding torture.

There are various YouTube vids of him talking to the View Chicks, and with Glenn Beck. (I think it was Glenn)

Personally, I am still on the fence about this, (Is it/is it not), torture thing, but I know one thing....................It's not hacking a non combattants head off with a freakin knife, or dragging their beaten broken bodies thru town to light them on fire and hang them off a bridge either.

Gah, this arguement is like the fuggin Energizer bunny.

To me, if you have to lean on someone a bit to get info that can save lives without maiming, killing, or mutilating the dude, it's good policing. And putting unders on someones head or piling them nekked on each other is Humiliation, not Torture.

I saw him on "Hannity" last week. I respect his opinion, (and remember -
McCain said it was torture too) but I'm not buying into it.

If they pulled their teeth or fingernails out or broke bones - I'd say THAT
qualifies as torture.

One thing though - nothing is said about what Britain's SAS does during
interrogations...

You think WE'RE bad? Get real.

Wurd.

Besides, where was all the outrage when poor Danny Pearl was being
beheaded by Muslim fanatical terrorists on video, or the mutilated U.S.
troops being dragged through Mogadishu by a rope?

This "waterboarding is torture" bullshit just makes me want to spit on my TV.

Waterboard 'em all, dammit! hahahaha

Seriously, we need to get China to "tighten the screws" a bit. They're in
bed with PRK, but they're like a big brother.

PRK needs Chinese fuel and resources to survive.

PRK's playing "Texas Hold'em," and they just raised on the flop.

I think China is the key player here, but if they don't wanna play, then all
bets are off.
