Are they related to Welsh Corgis?

That looks like a Corgi I used to have as a kid! (if it was short-haired.)

They are cool dogs.
Cyg, thats pretty cool, was it a pembroke or a cardigan , pembroke are the ones with very little tail, usually docked, cardigans have a long tail. (I wanted a tailed one but never seen one in the area, this is my first tailless dog and I am surprised to find I don't notice  . ((My criterion for dogs are it must look like a dog (aka no rat dogs) so tails are usually required.))
I had a stubby-tailed short-haired buff-colored one like the pic. He was a
rooter too. He loved to go mousin' just like a cat!

He was a awesome protector too. He guarded his turf with his life if he
had to. The neighborhood kids used to tease him through the chain-link
fence we had around the yard....

One day, he learned to climb fences.

The first bite of teaser's ass he got - that problem was over. hahahaha

Damn man, that is amazing! I would have loved to see the look on those kids faces.

Looking back, it was sweet justice as a kid.

When we get older, we have to worry about lawsuits.

Thank he-who-shall-not-be-named-in-this-thread for that, dude.

***Did you see the rancher who got burned for holding illegals 'till ICE
got 'em? Farking incredible, but that's another thread.***

My puppy beat up a mastiff the other day, he might have been as big as its head but it just looked at him and wagged its tail sniffing him while he was trying to jump to nip its nose, was pretty funny to see the mastiff jump back a bit. Training is going well today, starting to get the poo thing down, its tough when we are gone 7-8 hours a day about 3 days a week.

Big dogs can be quite the big babies, yeah! lol

Glad you are getting a hand on the potty training. I was stoked when we finished that with Delta. What an icky job cleaning up messes.

I have always found a good nose rubbing, (of the pup), in the puddle/pile helps stop that rather quickly. As barbaric as that sounds.

Hairy! Are you serious? :x :(

Crate training as barbaric as it sounds, is the simplest and kindest way. Its only cruel if you don't ged them out enough...for a little pup or small dog that means every 2 hours.

not really a good way to go about it, dogs do not associate punishment well.

Sorry. Crate/kennel is what we did with Bonsai.

Dogs do tend to live in the moment, so whether it is praise or correction it needs to come practically concurrent with the behavior for the dog to realize what it is you want.
