Let's just add a little more of what was said and leave it alone. This isn't a political debate thread (yeah, I realize that despite some previous posts of mine). So, from the interview with Hannity we see this explanation:

So yes, I would hope he would succeed if he acts like Reagan. Look, he's my president. The fact that he is historic is irrelevant to me now. It matters not at all. If he is going to implement a far-left agenda... Look, I think it's already decided: a $2 trillion in stimulus? The growth of government? I think the intent here is to create as many dependant Americans as possible looking to government for their hope and salvation. If he gets nationalized health care, I mean, it's over, Sean. We're never going to roll that back. That's the end of America as we have known it, because that's then going to set the stage for everything being government owned, operated, or provided. Why would I want that to succeed? I don't believe in that. I know that's not how this country is going to be great in the future; it's not what made this country great. So I shamelessly say, "No! I want him to fail." If his agenda is a far-left collectivism -- some people say socialism -- as a conservative heartfelt, deeply, why would I want socialism to succeed?

That's not what I quoted from. That was Limbaugh mopping up his statement with a fellow blaster. He was more succinct on his own program when he said, "I don't need 400 words, just 4. I hope he fails." This was right after he slanderously said, "Obama wants the absorption of as much of the private sector by the U.S. government as possible. I don't want that."
Nobody wants that, you hockey puck! Prove that this is what Obama wants! Quit skimming that flat stone across the water and dive in to get some facts before spewing your spoiled sugar-puffs all over the airwaves, causing the other stone-skippers, so injured by what they see as a crippling defeat, to amplify your opinions across the crap-o-sphere. If you have a better idea, the man will accept it as a solution. Otherwise join Malkin, O'Reilly, Hannity and the others in a Soilent Green-like stew of broadcasting prevaricators, creating problems because they don't actually exist as of yet and their schtick has less real meaning than it used to.

I'm assuming that you're getting your quotes from mediamatters.org or someplace like that. I don't have access to the archives far enough back to get the entire quote from the monologue where he first said it. But I was listening at the time, and the meaning was quite clear... and it was identical to the explanation given in the Hannity interview. I wouldn't describe it as "mopping up".
