I talk to you on this program and I bring you the problems, but I want to bring you solutions today. I want to bring you something that you can actually do, something that will make a difference, but I want to frame it -- I want to frame it with this story. It happened to me at Wendy's Saturday night. We are on the bus and we stop to get fuel and I said, I'm going to go in, I'm treating. Everybody wants a Frosty. I'm going to go get Frosties. And one of the security guys, said, No, you're not. I said, Yeah, I am. I mean, it's a truck stop. How much trouble am I going to get in in a truck stop? Everybody here you can trust. You're not going in. I went in, but I had to bring the swat team with me and so I'm just, I just want to Frosty, please, the guy standing next to me, who, by the way, I may point out. Had food in his hair, is a truck driver and he turned around. He looked at me and the recognition was immediate and he said, You racist bigot! And I just said -- I wanted to say, I think you have me mistaken for someone else, but I knew he knew who I was and he just hated me for who I was. You conservatives that have destroyed this country! And the hatred was so deep, it was breath taking. Luckily the swat team was there and I just separated myself from him and he just shouted through other people and there were children in the restaurant and he blamed me for everything, I believe including the Holocaust, and the hatred was palpable. The guy screamed at the restaurant, you better not let me see you in the parking lot because I've got a truck and I'll run your ass over! Wow. Is this who we've become? Is this who we've become?

I could stand in line with Michael Moore and I wouldn't say that to him. I would say some things to Michael Moore, but it wouldn't be that. Is this who we've become? I believe there is a caldron of hatred on both sides, but the left is quite frightening. The extreme right is frightening, as well. I don't care if you're a Republican, Democrat, or independent. I don't care who you voted for. We cannot become that person. No matter how passionate -- it took everything in me, it took everything in me not to say anything to him. I mean, I was just is a -- I was feeling the rage inside of me and, quite honestly, I prayed it away. "New, from God, it's prayaway." Bing! Because I was enraged we've got to disconnect from that and we have to try -- and that's why I said to you the day after Obama was elected, please, let's treat the man the way we wanted the left to treat George Bush and, that is, with a healthy dose of skepticism but let's talk about his policies. Let's not just hate him. He hasn't done anything yet. Even if he does do it, I disagree with his policies, I may disagree with some of his principles. I don't know yet. Let's see what he does and let's not hate.

Yeah? Well, that remains to be seen.

See, Obama's pulling the wool over your eyes. What it amounts to is a
tax CREDIT. That's why people who don't even PAY taxes will get a check.

(Let him down easy t. He's not gonna like the outcome very much.) :smt103

Excerpts:
WASHINGTON ? President-elect Barack Obama promoted an economic plan Saturday he said would create 2.5 million jobs by rebuilding roads and bridges and modernizing schools while developing alternative energy sources and more efficient cars.

"These aren't just steps to pull ourselves out of this immediate crisis. These are the long-term investments in our economic future that have been ignored for far too long," Obama said in the weekly Democratic radio address.
"We'll put people back to work rebuilding our crumbling roads and bridges, modernizing schools that are failing our children, and building wind farms and solar panels," Obama said. He also made a commitment to fuel-efficient cars and alternative energy technologies "that can free us from our dependence on foreign oil and keep our economy competitive in the years ahead."

Obama pointed to the past, saying that Americans in this country's darkest hours have risen above their divisions to solve their problems, as a hope for the future.
If he can do this, kudos to him! On we go!!!!!!!!

Sounds like he is taking a page from canada, whenever we hit recession we dump tonnes and tonnes of money into infrastructure and roadway engineers have all the work they could hope for, the idea being when you come out of recession travel is that much better and good to go.

An odd thing is the difference between 'right and left' between out nations, your entire system in respect to canadas is much to the right.

So, even your "conservatives" are left of ours?

It's obvious. TAXES! He may create job by building infrastructure, but the taxes imposed upon the people will far outweigh any individual prosperity that otherwise may have been found.

So, is it worth it? Do we really want his (government) stuff built when we will have nothing left for ourselves? Be careful how you answer this. If you say, " but the infrastructure will be better," than you are revealing your bent toward socialism.
