So with the old school OD-1 overdrive that is what gives the Bassman it's goose. Makes sense.
It is hard to tell on a computer if the tone is quite good on that guitar. But, from what I hear from Carvin users, the tone is wonderful. (Of course, one could say they are biased! lol)
As I grew up, the brand with all the mystique to me was Gibson. I was so enchanted with Alex's ES-355, Steve Howe's ES-175, and Les Paul's Les Pauls of course.

I didn't see any slam.
Carvin is by far the most affordable American-made semi-custom gear that I know of. But it isn't cheap.
I prefer to think of them as a top notch guitar that is not overcharged. Opposed to say a les paul for the price is not worth its salt. Albeit you can build some very expensive carvins (glad I didn't have to pay for my bass it was a pocket destroyer)
Heheh, well t it certainly could be used in a teaching environment. It's really a great doco, though. Lots of guitar greats sharing memories and knowledge.
