Whoa! What body wood did you choose again under that maple cap?

My koa 6-string bass is nice and light! For a bass at least...
walnut :D it looks damned fine too. Looking up weight specs it should be close to 10 than 13 according to similar models, however this one still feels heavier so more inclined to lower my estimate to 11-12. still damned heavy however.

Joe Perry has a Tele made of balsa- called the mysterycaster- thats why I said that.

Actually, some of the old Gibson semi-hollows had a balsa center block. But that seemed like a dumb idea to me...

OK, the reason I asked is Mike Ness (Social D) I looked his rig up and its so simple its crazy.
1970's vintage Les Paul => Boss OD-1 Overdrive => Fender Bassmans => 4x10 Marshall Cabinets
And it's a sound I really like and its so damn simple!

The old Bassman has a clean tone to die for. It can only overdrive a little bit, and it has to be pretty loud to do it, so it's not a great hard rock amp on its own. But with the right overdrive pedal... of yeah!
