My koa 6-string bass is nice and light! For a bass at least...

I would think balsa would make a great 6 string body....Sir Myghin wrote:walnutElfDude wrote:Whoa! My koa 6-string bass is nice and light! For a bass at least...it looks damned fine too. Looking up weight specs it should be close to 10 than 13 according to similar models, however this one still feels heavier so more inclined to lower my estimate to 11-12. still damned heavy however.

Actually, some of the old Gibson semi-hollows had a balsa center block. But that seemed like a dumb idea to me...YYZ30 wrote:Joe Perry has a Tele made of balsa- called the mysterycaster- thats why I said that.ElfDude wrote:You're a FUNNY GUY!YYZ30 wrote: I would think balsa would make a great 6 string body....

OK, the reason I asked is Mike Ness (Social D) I looked his rig up and its so simple its crazy.
And it's a sound I really like and its so damn simple!1970's vintage Les Paul => Boss OD-1 Overdrive => Fender Bassmans => 4x10 Marshall Cabinets
EDIT- Thanks Elfie!
