My heartfelt thanks to the Coast Guard at times like this. Can you imagine sailing INTO this storm while everyone else is evacuating?

Tesify Bro.

We steamed outta Little Creek more than once when they hit Hatteras and points North.

In fact, for Hanna they mobilized about 30 LCAC hovercraft up the Chesapeake
and up the Potomac to our base.

Still, we gotta pray for their souls if they have to ride it out down there.

This whole situation reminds me of an old Bill Cosby comedy bit.

Headline from MSNBC dot com this morning.
Survivors beg for help as Ike ravages Texas
I have to rant.

There are 250K people that ignored the government's warnings, and now because they were too stupid to listen, the first responders will have to put their lives on the line to save these dumb fucking people.

Darwin is rolling over in his grave.

I saw where some of the bars stayed open and they "drank" it out.

The bars were on the waterfront. They're not anymore.

I recall a Mr. Truman who didn't listen and leave and he died.

It does tick me off, though, when someone does something they are told will result in pain and or injury and then they scream for help and help now when they could have just taken care of themselves!

Aw, man...

http://www.cnn.com/2008/SHOWBIZ/Music/0 ... index.html
LONDON, England (AP) -- A Pink Floyd spokesman says founding member Richard Wright has died. He was 65.

Wright died Monday after a battle with cancer at his home in Britain. His family did not want to give more details about his death. The spokesman is Doug Wright, who is not related to the artist.

Richard Wright met Pink Floyd members Roger Waters and Nick Mason at college and joined their early band Sigma 6.

After Syd Barrett joined the band, Sigma 6 eventually became Pink Floyd and Wright wrote and sang some of the band's key songs. He wrote "The Great Gig In The Sky" and "Us And Them" from Pink Floyd's 1973 "The Dark Side Of The Moon."

He left the group in the early 1980s to form his own band but rejoined Pink Floyd for their 1987 album "A Momentary Lapse of Reason."
