Well, last night's gig included me as an audience member. I got to see the debut performance of a new local band called "The Question". It's a four-piece that features two of my nephews. One is highly skilled on the piano and writes the bulk of their songs and does lead vocal. The other (son of my brother who is also my band-mate) plays guitar.
Their set was excellent for the most part, especially for it being their first show playing a bunch of original material (I think there was only one cover). The audiece LOVED it! It really was a great set. The audience stood up at the end and demanded an encore! How often does that happen with some unknown local act?
I shot some crummy videos from the audience. I'll try to get one or two posted in the next few days.
For now, here are a couple of photos:

This picture makes the room look a lot bigger than it is, and the audience look smaller than it was. It's a pretty small venue and, despite appearances, they had a great turnout. The place was full.

Nope, not a basement. Just this place:

In this college town that I live next to, Muse Music really is the happening venue for the local music scene.

Umm... they're hard to categorize. Their sound kind of reminded me of Bare Naked Ladies. But not exactly. It mostly revolved around excellent piano work...Big Blue Owl wrote:Looks like fun. What kind of music do they play?
Heck. I'll just try to get a video up soon and let you see for yourselves.

Xanny, How about going to some of those nights at clubs where anyone can get up on stage and jam together? You might find bandmates who are willing to practice that way.
Elfie, that is SO cool! You really have quite the musical family there. Siblings, children, nephews,...that must be so much fun.
