Oh DUDE! They all cram the interstate here to get to O.C., V.B.,
Cape Hatteras, the Outer Banks and Myrtle Beach on
"Reach-the-Beach" Friday...
I DREAD IT. If I could take off work Friday I would.

gawking tourists out of interstate passing lane***
Generally speaking we get out a little early, and if the roads are really bad I go home side roads.

If there's a silver lining to it all, it generates local income, AND:
The surrounding beaches are only supposed to be in the FIFTIES in
the mornings, so that should deter all but the
hardcore. HAHAHA

I can't go to the beach (unless I want to go with a very large umbrella and stay under it) so it doesn't bother me any.
Let the tourists have the beaches, stay the f#$k off of my golf courses though!

I'm like Zed. Can't hack the beach and the sun with my over-white skin.
But I LOOVES de beach! So I go in winter, at night and when it rains and all the icky sun-worshippers are GONE and it's MINE!!!

I LOVE the beaches out there!! Oh my. Funny you say that. I was remembering my last visit there and for the heck of it I googled La Push (which is next to La Shove) which I thought was magical!
I saw pictures and was transported back in time (with a small stab of pain) as I saw EXACTLY what I saw then.

Only when we went the tide was in and those islands seemed miles away.

It sure is pretty out here.
I've only camped on the ocean once (I am more of a mountain stream, lake kinda person), and it was down by Kalaloch. It is gorgeous all up and down the coast, though!

No, it is often noisy at the beach when the waves are pounding.
