You do realize that flag pin has too few stars even still, don't you? He said he'd been to 57 states, that he still needed to go to one, and that he wasn't allowed by his staff to go to Alaska or Hawaii, which means if we do the math: 57 + the one he hasn't been to yet + Alaska + Hawaii = we are up to 60 states now!

Hmmm....Canada has 10 provinces....

Yeah, it was. but I think Elfie has a point. Had Bush claimed he'd visited 57 US states, this would be all over everywhere.

Obama, his party's presidential front-runner, and his wife, Michelle, were asked in an interview aired Monday on ABC's "Good Morning America" about an online video last week by the state's GOP taking her to task for a comment some considered unpatriotic.

"The GOP, should I be the nominee, can say whatever they want to say about me, my track record," Obama said. "If they think that they're going to try to make Michelle an issue in this campaign, they should be careful because that I find unacceptable, the notion that you start attacking my wife or my family."

Well... maybe if she weren't giving campaign speeches she could be called "off limits"... but since she's a big part of the campaign...

We can't say his middle name.

you know this is such BS. If he did not want his wife attacked, she should stay off the campaign trail. When she makes stupid comments she sets herself up as fair game.

Agreed.

But what has really struck me over the past year is how fragile this guy is. It started with him chastizing Maureen Dowd for mentioning his ears. Any time a pundit or a candidate says something he doesn't like, he declares the subject off limits. That's not something that inspires confiedence.

Not that any of the candidates inspire confidence...
