Got a call last night that my cousin lost three people he is acquainted with and there were more tornados on the way then. Haven't heard from him since and I sure am hoping he's okay.

Yikes!

Yikes to all of this! I'm so glad I don't live in tornado country.

Still don't know about my cousin, so I expect he is okay. Surely someone would have called his mom and dad if he's been killed, right?

Wanna know something funny? My aunt has been trying and even begging my mom to move out to tornado country because my aunt is so afraid of the earthquakes we have out here on the west coast. hmmmmmmmmmmmm...

Ack. Sorry.

I found out today one of my old singer's and his wife are ok. (Just outside of Lexington, Kentucky).

Their dog had puppies during the Tornados.

My heart goes out to them Zep.

I watched a Arkansas man tell of how he lost sight of his 78-year-old mother
during the twister and his wife found his mom's legs sticking up and out of a pile of
debris - and she was alive!

Sweet Jesus...

Churches that were totally leveled except for the temple (steeple)
and cross....

The baby that was tossed 300-plus feet (and survived)....what a
mixed bag of emotions those folks must be going through...
Don't start none...won't be none.

^^^^^

Yup... this is a tough one. Warmest wishes and karma (or whatever) to that part of the country.

Now... regarding the part of the country we're really getting sick of:
WASHINGTON - It's almost as if people can barely stand the thought of President Bush and Congress anymore. Bush reached his lowest approval rating in The Associated Press-Ipsos poll on Friday as only 30 percent said they like the job he is doing, including an all-time low in his support by Republicans. Congress' approval fell to just 22 percent, equaling its poorest grade in the survey. Both marks dropped by 4 percentage points since early January.
Yup, we want change. And there stand the old Washington elites, Hillary Clinton and John McCain claiming that they'll bring the much desiared change. This is crazy!

I read an atricle last night on the baby...........wow!!!

I also saw one on a guy who opened his door and the twister shoved him to the ground, snatched up his house right from his grasp of the doorknob.
Left him pinned to the ground by the wind and his house did the flying top option.

Did I mention I lived in "Tornado Alley" most of my childhood, and I don't miss it one bit.

hayhayhay some of us have to LIVE HERE yaknow...

we don't like the talking heads and bullshit artists any more than you do.

The traffic sucks too.

Two hours to travel twenty miles is not a commute...

It's a kill-or-be-killed daily exercise in survival.

Besides, most politicians are not FROM HERE anyway!

They're representatives of their respective states and districts.

What have YOUR elected officials done for YOU lately?

You may be surprised...probably nothing short of pork peddling.

I will say that there is a HUGE constituency of gov't workers and
military here, so of course our politicians are gonna look out for
our best interest....and they DO.

It's what they were elected for, right?

It's all relative, 'cuz WHOEVER is gonna be sitting in the Oval Office doesn't mean squat.

Somebody's gonna have heat with them. It's what we call...

Democracy.

A government founded by folks that didn't get along.

Don't get me wrong, sir, I understand all of that. But there's a reason that the respect of the people for them has dropped to an all-time low.

It has a lot to do with the fact that they aren't doing what this nation needs, in the eyes of the people at least. I watch what it is my legislators in both my state and nation do "for" me, and it sure isn't what I would have done for me.
