Any of you chaps perchance use Cakewalks Sonar? I have been delving into it ,still crashes from time to time like their worthless protracks but not so often as i get extremely angry.

Anywho i am trying to take the drums, made with one of thei drum maps, and have them export along with the rest of the tracks, I cannot make the drums show up in the final mixdown, only when i play the tracks directly from the console. I am happier with my mulligan on that last peice just need it to mix properly, apparently my guitars bright sound will always translate into the thick bright sound when recorded, shame but its grown on me.

Here is the rehash of that piece I put together the first time, lead guitar stil came across extremely thick and bright (even though adding the neck pickup balanced it to my ears when actually playing) but I don't really care, find the drums added alot of energy too the song and alterred the bassline some, this is something that a deem alright-good. The bassline is reminiscent of a classical song , i just can't think of which one it reminds me of.

Dawn suggested I post this. She knows it by a different name. Several years ago I wrote this as the instrumental you hear here. Later I added some lyrics and threw it in with my kids album songs. I like this instrumental version a little better. I think the bass work is some of my most tasteful (not flashy, just tasteful). Dawn says the guitar solo is good.

You know, for as much as I dislike electronic drums, I do like the way you layered the different instrumentations together. Cool rhythms working with each other to get that shade of color on the palette.

It gave me the feeling that Paul McCartney and Phil Collins had collaborated on a tune.

I can take no credit for the drum track. It was a bought and paid for midi file. Some company in the mid-90's was selling midi drum tracks that were kind of cool because instead of being programmed, they were recorded by drummers sitting at electronic kits. So they felt a lot more like having a real drummer instead of a program.

That song started off with the drum track, everything else being added in one layer at a time.
