I listened to yours as well. I thought that the lead guitar line needed a little work (of course, I think that every time I listen to something of my own as well), but you have a cool foundation going. Kinda reminded me of a medieval times march into battle... or something.

I am in the process of looking for a better recording program, when i find one that vista is friendly with, I plan to re-record that and polish it up nicely, hell even set a metronome so a slight time off cannot happen.

Those acoustic songs were plenty cool there ogg, good stuff

And hairy you band is a good one, you can really belt out those words.

Some good news is my drummer is moving into the same city we are in february or march, forget which, which means we will likely have a less small jamming spot. That would mean we could record (currently whenever we try the damned drums get into everything, think 10x10 room with keys,vox,guitar,bass and a heavy handed drummer)

I'm glad you broke the ice, bud. The bass part is cool. The piece reminded me, fondly, of King Crimson (with a touch of Maiden's Rhyme Of The Ancient Mariner). You are right about the guitar sound. Bright and thick. Nice first attempt, and kudos for the vigilance of working with wonky, crashing programs.

Next time, bring some kind of recording device to rehearsal. Good jams always emerge when you least expect them to.

You know something; Even though you don't play this style live, and your recordings have been kid's songs for a while, you are really good at prog/atmospheric/blues/space. That keyboard is no-doubt happy to have you as an owner. I'd like to hear more of this kinda thing (and steal it for my MP3 player!) Any chance you could find some like-minded players there and be the guitar/keyboard/vocalist in a prog/rock band? Think of the fun you'd have.

You know, a few years back I tried advertising for other players to form such a group.

The only call I got was from an old man who said, "Hey! Your phone number is only one digit different than mine! But I never heard of any of them bands you mentioned."

Actually, he had a lot more to say than that. When he was a kid his dream came true at a state fair when Gene Autry invited him on the stage to play guitar with him for one song. When he was more grown up, he ordered his first Gibson guitar... "I want this body style with this pickup configuration" etc etc. I guess Gibson could do that back in those days. When the guitar shipped to him it came with a letter saying that they lliked what he'd ordered so much that they were making it into a stock model. Consequently, he got the first L-5 with a serial number of 001 (I think it was an L-5... I could be wrong about the model). He told me that letter was framed on his wall.

He called once or twice more for some chats, but I never did meet him.

I'm pleased our acoustic stuff was received so well, sincere thanks for the positive comments. I hope to post a (far superior) full on heavy version of MDPhotos when we've completed it.

Too many hands on my time the now but I'm so looking forward to catching up with the latest offerings

For several years They Might Be Giants (both named John) had a band consisting of three men who were all named Dan. It was often said from the stage during their concerts, "It's always a full house at a They Might Be Giants show! Only one thing beats a full house. Four of a kind...

Elf, you could be making a mint creating atmospheres and soundtracks for films and tv. Your stuff on this keyboard sounds polished and professional, not to mention pleasing to the ear.
