You know, a few years back I tried advertising for other players to form such a group.
The only call I got was from an old man who said, "Hey! Your phone number is only one digit different than mine! But I never heard of any of them bands you mentioned."
Actually, he had a lot more to say than that. When he was a kid his dream came true at a state fair when Gene Autry invited him on the stage to play guitar with him for one song. When he was more grown up, he ordered his first Gibson guitar... "I want this body style with this pickup configuration" etc etc. I guess Gibson could do that back in those days. When the guitar shipped to him it came with a letter saying that they lliked what he'd ordered so much that they were making it into a stock model. Consequently, he got the first L-5 with a serial number of 001 (I think it was an L-5... I could be wrong about the model). He told me that letter was framed on his wall.
He called once or twice more for some chats, but I never did meet him.
