I paid for a couple of years and then got paid to go to school because of my grades and the doctoral program I entered.

I told my kids I was going to give them a decent enough education they could do like I was doing before I dropped out to teach them at home. Good enough they could go for a couple of years of jr. college paying their own way (not so spendy they can't earn the money needed) and then get a scholarship to uni.
