as far as TNA goes - random thoughts

there are a few wrestlers there I just could do without - add absolutely nothing to any entertainment value, and take time away from others who could fill that void (Jarrett, Nash, Steiners)

maybe too many generic X-division guys - can't differentiate - those matches are jsut spot-fests

most tv matcehs are too predictable

(don't often watch TNA, though I thought i would wihen Christian joined)

oh dude....I MARK OUT for Jericho. His WWE 'return' was a little lame,
but the best is yet to come. He's gonna get WWE's ratings up a little.

I like the Jericho/Orton feud.

Jericho + Orton = RATINGS.

I agree with the others in TNA you mention though-with the addition
of SCOTT HALL.

He (Hall) looks BAD. I can't bear to watch him wrestle. (About as
much as I can stomach watching Ric Flair wrestle these days.)

I used to talk to someone working a small circuit in the south, and he said the worst was going through a table, even though they cut them so the impact isn't as great on you.

Yeah, you can tell they've been modified with thinner wood, legs and
the pre-cuts on the sides...but I believe him 100%.

I know Batista's first cousin, and he says most wrestlers' nightmares
are wrestling someone who is too rough('stiff") and doesn't "take care"
of the other.

if you noticed just this past week when "Overspanker" tombstoned
Vicki Guerrero.....he took excellent care of her...

her head never even touched the mat. She "sold it" too....you GO Vicki!!! :headbang:

not too sure about this... not all companies would stoop to pre-cut tables - if a spot goes wrong, ie if the table breaks at an inopportune time, it looks REALLY STUPID. Iknow there have been instnces caught on tv (WCW) where a pre-cut table just kinda breaks when no impact has occurred

I've read that, if done properly, table bumps are in fact easier to take (than a bump on the mat) because the breaking table actually absorbs a lot of the impact. Key word there is "properly" - needs to be done in the center of the table, proper type of table etc.

I just got the WWWE DVD on Ladder Matches - the tables are manhandled before the actual bump- thrown around for positioning etc. Also, many bumps involve 300 lb wrestlers lying on top of them before someone (Jeff Hardy) lands on top of them - the table has to resist breaking before the actual bump, something that you would not want to risk not only for appearances sake, but for the safety of the wrestlers.

As for the Spike Dudley accident, he was supposed to land in the middle of the table where it breaks in half (and "breaks" Spike's fall) - a spectacular bump. Unfortunately, his foot catches the top rope and he does not get the proper trajectory, lands short and hits his head on the edge of the table. OUCH. Would a pre-cut table break? Maybe. But if the table WAS pre-cut and broke too easily, Spike would have to absorb MORE impact than if the the table was not gimmicked, ie the force absorbed by the breaking table decreases Spike's impact on the floor

BTW, spike was out for a few weeks (concussion) and was okay afterwards
