Barry! I had offered to take you out to dinner! But now I'm just disappointed in you. What do you have to say for yourself?TMZ has learned that legendary singer Barry Manilow has pulled out of his scheduled appearance on "The View" tomorrow -- because he strongly disagrees with host Elisabeth Hasselbeck's conservative view! Paging Rosie O'Donnell!
In an exclusive statement to TMZ, Barry says, "I strongly disagree with her views. I think she's dangerous and offensive. I will not be on the same stage as her." Barry, taking a stand!

Oh, man that would be fun. Not the ranting bit, but standing in a room with alla you'se would be fantastic and surreal. There would be so much laughter we'd all be in danger of being committed. It'll happen someday. Something that positive and exciting must happen.

Not one of today's headlines, but interesting just the same:
Smithsonian Returns Sitting Bull's Hair to Family
September 18, 2007 - 6:46am
WASHINGTON (AP) - A lock of hair and leggings that belong to Sioux Indian Chief Sitting Bull are being returned by the Smithsonian to his descendants.
Sitting Bull was killed while being arrested by tribal police in 1890. The lock of hair and leggings were obtained by an Army doctor, who later donated them to the Smithsonian's Natural History Museum.
The museum returned the items following a request by the great-grandson of Sitting Bull, who became famous for defeating Lt. Col. George Custer at the battle of Little Bighorn.
The director of the museum's repatriation office said it was an honor to meet Sitting Bull's descendants and to work together toward returning the items to the family.

That sounds eerily Carlin-esque, but I'm sure Carlin "borrowed" fromElfDude wrote:I wonder if the Smithsonian washed the hair before returning it?

Police said after her arrest, Simpson answered questions rationally and was upset to be in custody, but did not appear to understand the seriousness of what she had done.
I think some people just don't get reality. On her Web site, Simpson described herself as someone who loves "crazy ideas" and has been "traveling the world and saving the planet from evil villains with my delivered-just-in-time gadgets."
Onward and Upward!
