Guests
Often when I come to BT I find that there are a number of people on, but they are guests, not people logged in. It seems that just about every time I come here I see these guests, but still not that many people are really posting.
So, a question: do you tend to stay as a guest until you find something you wish to post a response to, or do you tend to log in (even if it is invisble to others) when you come.
I am just nosey as to how many of these guests are people who are members here and how many are just browsing our fine board.

Lurker does not participate in normal forum discourse, but he's out there...watching, reading every message. Generally, he is quite harmless. In fact, his silence usually reflects a natural reticence rather than any sinister motives. He is content to let the other people haul the conversational freight and, if a fight breaks out he will observe quietly. Occasionally, however, some mysterious impulse drives him to de-lurk and attack. Other Warriors regard his unexpected assault as an ambush, and invariably turn on him savagely. But Lurker seldom sticks around to fight it out, rather, after a brief exchange, he slips away, never to be heard from again.

Me too...except for the invisible bit. Wouldn't really work too well 'round 'ere. There's rarely more than 5 of us on at a time and suddenly a post appears from someone who's apparently not logged in...then, up, the jig would beWalkinghairball wrote:Sometimes I log right in, sometimes I read the posts till I find something to post on, or train wreck.
I have only logged on as invisible here 1 or 2 times, and that was over a year ago.

And that does happen. I know who most of the invisible people are just from watching that happen. Then I PM them and say something like "I see you."
This space for rent
My habit is to log in, although rarely I will lurk until I find a post I want to respond to. Usually that is when I only have a few minutes and don't hvae the time to play in the PMs section. I prefer to be logged in because then the board shows me which threads I have and have not read yet. Convenient feature that is!
If the people I "see" but don't see are lurking, that is cool. I'm just nosey.

Well, it logs me out by itself at some point after I've gone. But I've got it set to automatically log me back in if I come to the site. I'd have to turn that off if I wanted to lurk I guess.Walkinghairball wrote:So if you all never log out, then why are you not here all the time?
Wouldn't I see ALL of you always logged in???
Just curious.
Aren't you the guy who hit me in the eye?

While I would have liked to lurk and spy
and pry I cannot and I don't know why so
I confess I never lurked just jumped right in and
I remember the day exactly WHB said he
WAS Geddy Lee and I said No Way Eh and
he said way eh but there was no way I'd fall for
that even as a noobie because I don't hide
very well as a habit because I am always found.
Run on sentence but hey you asked the question so I will
answer and hope that you're not reading this all the way to the end.
No more Pepsi with supper for me, hee hee hee.

Nope, not goofin', I can't find the post but you said you were Geddy Lee and I found it hilarious at the time. It's part of the reason I stuck around this board and also wanted see what other monkey business was happening.
