Ogg, is it my speakers (or my ears ) but I had a lot of trouble hearing the guitar and vocals on that clip. I loved that (off) beat, though. Really nice.

I didn't see the cymbal problem either, Elfie. Oh no wait. I got it. It was still in front of Ogg's face!!

Another solid performance! Nice backing vocals. I'm pretty sure that not just any band could pull this one off these days, but you guys rocked it out.
Man, that song brings back the memories. I was in high school when it came out. You wanted to melt a girl's heart (or something), play some Frampton.

Hairy...you are the man. I cant believe you kept the vocals a secret for so long. I'm pleased we are all appreciating your band for what it is...a fuggin rockin classic fuggin rock covers fuggin band. The standard of musicianship on display would put many of the local acts here to shame. Man, I'd kill to see you live

It is with regret that I finally post this youtube clip of my 'Husk' thing. After Hairy's lot I feel a little daunted to even consider posting this, such are the all too apparent chops on display here...not forgetting Elfie's 'real' band either.

I've been pissing around with codec packs, converters etc and finally found something that's enabled acceptance by youtube.
I can no longer hide behind poor audio (although this is still rather tinny so turn the bass setting up!) so here's a quintessential 'Husk' moment, filmed about a month ago. We're attempting a new song (that we later scrapped) that dies after three mnutes odd so we simply jam for the remainding time. Nice shouty vocal by Dan during the jam and overplaying Peartism fills from me. This is the real deal, this is what I do three nights a week. Dont be too harsh eh?

Well...my local friends have all commented on the better (albiet tinny) audio but everyone's complaining that the songs too slow! We're playing again on monday so I'll make sure we film one of our quicker numbers.

Until then I offer another clip of yet another slow song with the usual jam ending. We scrapped this idea not long after as we couldnt take it anywhere relevant to the beginning. Anyway, for Kares and the rest of you here's the one clip I have with a closer view of well...me

When you are in groove form, do you drop your left hand to help with time sense, or is it completely involuntary?

Does Dan have to be so loud? (When he hit his lead channel you were totally buried in the mix.)(Can't hear his vocals most of the time either.)

I saw you playing paradiddles!

(I know not a question.)

I still wonder if your cymbals are mounted the regular way, or do you use shock springs? Or is it the cymbal angle and not having the wing nuts tight?

Woah! You ARE good bro

. Actually there are two reasons why... and yes it's premeditated to a degree, not involuntary. I was reading about a certain drummer's tenure with Freddy Gruber and the whole 'circular motion' theory.
I was practising this a while back but got into the habit of it and it's stuck to be honest. I only use it on the slower grooves and yes I guess it helps with the timing but it's the whole comfort feel I'm striving for. The other reason why I was using it during the video clip was because my snare head was on the way out (I split it the next jam) and the middle of the head sounded shit. If I hit the head halfway between the centre and the rim I found a nice spot but again, the whole circular motion helped, but with better accuracy this time

Lol, no worries there bro. Dan sold our digital four track when I lost my old kit (getting another very soon) so we've been using this little hand held thing

for the audio and the odd video clip. It's better than nothing I suppose but the sound is so tinny. It uses a memory card so I can drag the wav/mpeg files straight on the pc you see. If anything I'm usually louder than Dan, much to his frustration. No problems with being heard or hearing him at all mate

. I can assure you my nuts are very tight although the hardware came with these 'cymbal accentuator' things (exclusive to Mapex hardware)

I'm playing tomorrow so I'll have another wee fiddle. We're filming tomorrow too so I'm hoping we'll be able to both chat to youse lot during the intro before we crack on with a faster track
