I'm going to have to swear again, apologies in advance .Walkinghairball wrote:Here is a video of my band playing Dreams I'll Never See from Molly Hatchet. It is one of the songs I get to sing lead vocals in............be scared. I hope it don't hurt too much.

More later.
Fuck me bro...you are awesome!
For the uninitiated... it's difficult to play the drums (convincingly) and sing at the same time. I do the odd backing vocal for a few of my band's chunes and that's only on the less hectic numbers mind you.
In all seriousness...you have a good 'rock' voice there mate and I'm honestly impressed.
RE-FRIGGIN-SPECT!!!
*geek mode* Your ride sounds wicked. What make, size and how old is it ?*end geek mode*

I believe it is a 20'' Zildjian rock ride. I bought it in august of 1989.
All my cymbals are Zildjian. And they all need to be cleaned. Earth tones are good, but they sound brighter when not so grungy from a year of not cleaning them.
And thanks for the ego boost there D, much needed in a time of "hit a creativity wall" for the Hairball.

Perhaps you need to get to work on an original tune mate? Maybe not for public consumption, just to let the creative juices flow .Walkinghairball wrote:I believe it is a 20'' Zildjian rock ride. I bought it in august of 1989.

I'm watching the clip again and I say it yet again...awesome dude!
I wish that those who have commented would view again with perhaps a bit of your 'Rush' head on? I know the 'musicians' amongst us naturally look to these things but pay attention people! The rhythm itself is not simple and to play just that (properly) would merit praise but to sing on top? I love your solid but languid style bro, the most impressive thing is that you make it look so easy.
Man, I'm going to have to post a wee clip of my thang in action
Finally got to check that out Leon and glad I did! That is awesome you sound just like the original singer with a touch of your own style and playing the drums to boot. Like Ogg said you guys should create more orginal songs, using your voice, I like your sound. I don't want to leave out the rest of your band, they all sounded good. Sometimes I am guilty of saying, I like something but don't really think it's all that good, not this time, it really is, I am impressed. Keep it up dude, You actually made me smile.
It took forever and a day to down load it on my dial up but was well worth it, thanks I do have wireless that is fast but it doesn't work all the time.

When evil is allowed to compete with good, evil has an emotional populist appeal that wins out unless good men & women stand as a vanguard against abuse.

Well we have been slowly working on origional material, but we gig a lot, and unfortunately out road gear is also our studio gear.
I know excuses.......................... I actually have a song in my head we have been dabbleing with. It has a very odd time sence in the intro, then goes to a more groove oriented thing with a "Do-do, dah-do . . . . do-do, dah-do . da da da da da da da, do-do, dah-do" kind of feel.
I have the bass and rhythm guitar following the drums in the pattern, with the lead guitar playing a "wikkie-dookoo-shakka-dookoo" thing on the wah pedal, (In this . . . . part above.)
But it is in it's infantile state.
