Sweet.

On VH1 Classic they are showing History of Rock and Roll, and they featured one episode on guitars.

Les Paul was featured with his first big-body prototype, and his baby....(Probably) the oldest LP in existence....

Made in 1947 (or 8 I can't remember), it was immaculate. I could be wrong on the dates, but it was still butt old.

First Les (electric guitar) Pete Towshend (The Marshall stack) Jimi Hendrix (the wahwah as an expressive device, not just to keep time) Jimmy Page (violin bow), Tony Levin (the first really versatile player of "The Stick")...I could go on...

I did a lengthy report on Les Paul in college. I was surprised to learn how many other things he innovated along with guitar design.

Jimi was also famous for putting woefully over-powered speakers in his cabs, creating his wicked distortions.
