I was there and it was fantastic!!!!!!!
I had such a brilliant day. There was a lot happening. Rush Idol, Donna Halper, Joe's Band and Counterparts all had a part in the day.
Here's a pic of Joe's Band in action at the Limelight club that night........

Here's me playing a mean "open E" bass note........

Bassist of Joe's Band

That particular one belonged to "Big Al", the bassist of Rush tribute band Counterparts.awip2062 wrote:Oh good to see, Liam!
Say, is that your Hartke there I see, or did it belong to the house?
He let me use it so that I wouldn't need to use my own and take up more space on the stage. He's a really sound guy.
My own Hartke cab was outside in the van at the time as a back up.

Bassist of Joe's Band

I remember seeing TH1 there at the convention. I'm sure he's the same guy that asked Donna Halper two questions during Donna's Q&A session.
By the way, Donna Halper was brilliant on the day. She spoke to the crowd for around an hour and a half. That's brilliant considering she wasn't feeling very well. She was suffering from allergies and needed to have a drink occasionally to keep her voice from drying up.
What a wonderful lady she is. She spoke to the crowd giving them her first-hand account of playing "Working Man" on her turntable in her office at WMMS Cleveland radio station back in 1974. She was monumental in getting Rush played on American airwaves which led to them getting their record deal with Mercury.
She was so passionate about talking about her friendship with the band. She is still good friends with all three members of Rush after 32 years.
